What is nutritional therapy?

Nutritional therapy is a form of holistic nutrition and lifestyle counseling that helps individuals to achieve optimal wellness from a foundational perspective.  The goal of nutritional therapy is to address the underlying nutritional root causes of poor health and disease and correct nutritional weaknesses and deficiencies in order to bring balance back to the body.  Nutritional therapy recognizes 6 overarching foundations of health as it relates specifically to nutrition:

  • Diet

  • Digestion

  • Blood Sugar Balance

  • Mineral Balance

  • Fatty Acid Balance

  • Hydration

Weaknesses or imbalances in these foundations contribute to many of the degenerative, chronic health problems that plaque our society today.  Because the food that you consume fuels energy production and serves as the building blocks of all of your cells, a real food, nutrient-dense diet is the overarching foundation of nutritional therapy.

How can it help me?

Who can benefit from nutritional therapy with beth?

Nutritional therapy can be helpful for many different people, including those who want to learn how to manage a chronic illness, cope with food allergies or intolerance's, lose weight, or eat healthier.  In particular, Beth's specialty areas include skin conditions which are all related to the following; autoimmune disease, food intolerances/allergies, Candida, blood sugar dysfunction and digestive problems.  Many of my clients are dealing with concerns that include:

  • Acne, Rosacea, Eczema, Psorisis, Melasma

  • Hormonal Fluctations, PMS, Pre-Menapause, Irregular Cycles

  • Digestive Issues - Dysbiosis, Candida, SIBO, Parasites, IBS

Since I have chosen to specialize in inflammatory skin conditions, a lot of these conditions delve into the root cause which is often digestive/hormonal.

How is Beth different from the other nutrition practitioners?

I have first hand experience as a sufferer of many skin conditions. I know exactly how it feels, so I can relate in ways which other professionals cannot. I have been through the emotional turmoil that one suffers when you have your confidence ripped from you because your face/skin is causing you issues. I sufffered with fungal acne, cystic acne, melasma above my upper lip and eczema every couple of months all over my face. I can help you get to the root cause of your skin condition whilst emphathizing with the emotional feelings you’re having.
